Toledo in the morning

On our last full day i headed to the Roman city of Toledo.  Built on a hill surrounded by a river it was spectacular.  Like many old cities it has a Jewish quarter (with street tiles in  Hebrew letters) and an almost 1000 year old synagogue (which became a church).

The city is dazzling from across the river

The Jewish quarter is fairly clearly marked with tiles in Hebrew.  I did not have the heart to correct the guide when she read this is "Hi" not "Chai"
