First two full days
We started our day with a walk to Wawel Castle. It was a combo tour of the castle and art museum.
Somehow the 2 hour tour took us over four hours. I learned a little of Polish history and that Polish royalty really like tapestries.
We had lunch in an open air market just a few blocks from our temporary home. And despite consuming my body weight in sausage, pickles and pirogies, we managed to regain our appetite for a medieval/fantasy themed restaurant.
The next day we took a little break from local fare at a Turkish cafe just a block away
We then walked out of the old city to what was the Jewish quarter. We visited the old synagogue (roughly 600 years old).
We then walked around and, of course, every way you turn is another beautiful street of old buildings or a lush walkway that litter the city.
I had heard it was a beautiful city and I have not been disappointed. I think that is probably the theme of this trip: let’s walk around a city. Jeremy started to fulfill his plan of finding Tango in every city we visit. Josh and I spent the evening walking through the city center (again) dodging a shocking number of people asking us if we wanted to visit one of the hundreds (seemingly) strip clubs. It lent a modern note to our generally serene evening.
